The Things Network Sydney CBD…how good is it?
Well pretty darn good according to both ttnmapper.org image below showing actual hits on the public GPS units attached to ttnmapper, as well as some of my own investigations today on behalf of University of Technology Sydney and their TULIPnetwork.org project for Urban Livability. Meshed IoT surveyed 20 locations in the inner 5km ring and found all of them, bar 1, have LoRaWAN AS923 signal available. Considering there is only one AS923 gateway (base station) in the CBD, at #UTS Ultimo, that’s pretty good. However coverage is ably assisted by gateways at #UNSW Randwick, City of Canada Bay, Northern Beaches Council, AARNet (Australia’s Academic and Research Network) in Chatswood and Meshed HQ in North Sydney. More coming soon
