AT&T Names IP Infusion as Exclusive Integrator and Customer Support Provider for AT&T’s DANOS-Vyatta Edition; Will Release Open Source Code to Linux Foundation
DANOS-Vyatta Edition Enables Premium Capabilities for White Box Infrastructure
AT&T* has signed an agreement with IP Infusion to be the value-added integrator of DANOS-Vyatta edition, the industry’s first network operating system (NOS) designed to address the ever-changing needs of the carrier environment.
AT&T will also release the open source code for the Disaggregated Network Operating System (DANOS), hosted by the Linux Foundation on Nov. 15.
DANOS is an open source version of AT&T’s Vyatta code that is running today in AT&T’s production network.
IP Infusion, a leading provider of intelligent network software for telecom and data communications services, will have exclusive rights to sell DANOS-Vyatta edition as a commercial solution and provide ongoing support for carrier customers who need additional integration expertise.
DANOS-Vyatta edition includes many of the production-ready features used today in AT&T’s network to meet the demand for functionality, scale and reliability required in the carrier environment.
“DANOS-Vyatta edition is currently running in AT&T’s production network on a number of white box use cases.
This is a key component of our own network, and the disaggregated model it represents – decoupling hardware and software so they can be deployed and upgraded independently – is at the heart of our industry-leading approach to software-defined networking,” said Michael Satterlee, vice president, Network Infrastructure and Services, AT&T.
“By working with AT&T, IP Infusion will help to accelerate the network adoption of white box solutions as a cost-effective alternative to traditional networking models,” said Atsushi Ogata, CEO and President of IP Infusion
