Why?
Conventional business models built solely around “execution” have a limited role and diminishing relevance in a world increasingly dependent on and routinely disrupted by new and creative business ideas. However, most organizations, especially the larger ones tend to be highly execution and efficiency focused.
Unfortunately, such efficiency often comes at a heavy price, which is not immediately visible to the businesses. It requires streamlining and standardization of an already established production process, thereby leaving little scope for introducing new ideas lest the efficiency of the processbe destabilized. However, introduction of new ideas is a very messy process.
It requires tinkering with something that is not yet broken – which is a big antithesis to the established norms inside most organizations. Secondly, when it comes to experimenting with new ideas, failure is significantly more common than a guarantee of success, and the people who undertake such efforts often don’t have much “progress” to show on the bumpy, long and lonely road to an eventual success, by which time, organization priorities or the market needs might have changed significantly. Hence, corporate leaders tend to downplay any efforts that question or potentially disturb the status quo. However, ignoring innovation efforts is an even bigger riskier option in the long-term.
So, what can business leaders do to inculcate the right spirit of innovation inside the organizations? How can they encourage employees to pursue interesting and promising ideas without fear of reprisal, ridicule and failure? How can an organization embrace a culture of experimentation and learning from mistakes?
Indeed, this is a major issue that merits deeper understanding.
What?
A 2-day workshop on Intrapreneurship is proposed to help corporate executives and business leaders understand the process of intrapreneurship, and what does it entail.
There are no prerequisites to the workshop, and the ideal participant is a product manager, a department head, a project director, or a business leader or above. R&D organizations could benefit from the session, as there will be a special module to discuss how to implement interpreneurship successfully inside them.At the end of the workshop, the participants will also design a sample intrapreneurship program for a typical organization, and also take up a quiz to test their understanding.
A certificate of participation to allparticipants, and an additional certificate of achieving passing grades for the quiz shall be awarded to successful participants. For more information about course content visit: https://in.explara.com/e/ieee-workshop-on-intrapreneurship
