Industrial Design is a cornerstone of your IoT Product. Many startups struggle on finding the right partner to work with especially if the design is complex, need to use different types of materials and may need to do rapid scale up from China. In an interactive session Puttarj, CEO of Empoise, an Industrial Design firm goes through the steps, challenges and risk mitigation techniques as you conceptualize an IoT Product, go on to do rapid prototyping and finally to mass manufacturing as you scale up. Showcasing real life samples, articulating real life case studies, Puttaraj will discuss the common rookie mistakes, challenges and pitfalls as you go from initial prototyping (may be using a 3D printer) to making moulds to mass manufacturing. He will touch on use of complex materials, flexible PCBs and other design trends as well.

While 3D printing has been around, there has been significant improvements of the state of art. We are planning an interactive session with a 3D Printing service to educate all of us on the current state of art, what you can do and cannot do, what are the potential price points, can you do low volume manufacturing and if so what are the potential challenges.
