TiE IoT Forum has a nascent AgtiTech stream and led the session at IoTNext 2016 on Doubling Farmers Income: Role of Technology, with participation from NABARD and ITC. This Open House is to connect-up and explore the next steps.
An unusual problem of Agri-Food sector is the large number of small customers with limited propensity to experiment or buy technology until proven. This is too costly for startups to reach and scale out. Can the success of Amul and learnings from e-Choupal be used as a template for new age AgriTech adoption? Do producer companies have a role? Come, listen to practitioners who are making it happen.
Startups working with Agri and Food sectors, technology-based solutions and consultants & academia with technology-based delivery and market reach models are invited. We hope to develop a community and help shape future engagements. Regulation around IoT service providers also affect this sector and we would like to explore community representation.
