TiE Partner – IEEE Bangalore: Leveraging Use cases to Validate Opportunities

December 4, 2015 @ 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

ieee

The past couple of years have seen a heightened interest in the Internet of Things (IoT), transcending , academia and government. The optimism of IoT being transformational rather than an evolutionary technological advancement is driving innovation in both traditional and nontraditional application domains. IoT solution providers must be well-versed in identifying and validating realistic and implementable IoT solutions that can deliver real value to customers and end users.
Use cases are one of the most compelling ways providers can communicate their IoT vision and value proposition, clearly share a holistic picture of IoT benefits and spur IoT adoption. They also illustrate near-term IoT opportunities, validate target markets and quantify benefits.
This two-day workshop will deep dive into many such use-cases in energy, water, and wellness, retail, transportation and automobiles – but from an Indian context.
It will also attempt to enumerate the India-centric megatrends that are foreseen over the next 5 year horizon, identify problems and opportunities that are likely to arise as a consequence of these trends and their effect on present day’s ground situation, discuss technology gaps that will prevent these solutions from being put in place, and finally create an awareness of the opportunities for creating a significant advancement in the state-of-the-art for enabling transforming solutions.
The workshop will further use the advanced learnings from the use-cases gathering exercise to understand if IoT is the right technology umbrella for solving these problems in the Indian-context, and if so, identify the pain-points in the that may prevent ‘IoT for India’ from becoming a reality. It will also feature IoT success stories from startup companies in India.
We believe that the outcome of this workshop will: (i) help all interested entities to potentially leap-frog into more advanced IoT outcomes, and (ii) create a thoughtful roadmap for replicating outcomes across other developing nations that share the same demographics as India and the sub-continent.
