The Department of Information Technology and Biotechnology, Government of Karnataka is hosting a series of Blockchain-focused events as a follow-up to the Bengaluru Technology Summit. Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka state has been a leader in technology fields and blockchain is one of the most disruptive of the emerging technologies, with the potential to transform the way stakeholders interact.

The first in this series is the Blockchain Hackathon, being held from 19-21st January 2018 at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium. This event will be is one of the first of its kind to engage blockchain coders and enthusiasts to ideate on common problems faced by the government. In February, the department will organize the Blockchain Conclave, a high profile conclave of experts and industry professionals who will gather to deliberate on blockchain and data security. The department will then release a “Blockchain white paper” for wider consultations, which we envisage to develop into a Blockchain policy.

For the upcoming hackathon, we have developed few use cases with different departments, which are attached to this message. We appreciate your continued engagement and support to the Bengaluru Tech Summit Series and we invite you and officers of your department to the Hackathon and the Conclave.
