#Announcement(General) #Report [ via IoTForIndiaGroup ]
#City : Randwick, Australia
Randwick City Council joins more than 30 other Local Government Authorities around Australia by sponsoring LoRa WAN coverage for it’s area. Coogee Beach and Randwick CBD will be the primary targets for Council’s first major foray into “Smart City” technologies. Meshed IoT is supplying the LoRaWAN coverage and deploying applications such as people counting, car park monitoring, UV sensing, hyper-local weather and waste bin monitoring. Best of all, RCC is using The Things Network disruptive IoT model that allows anyone to access the coverage for free.
Sensor devices do not require a SIM or any access fees and data can be transmitted at no cost.
