The India Enterprise Architecture Framework (IndEA) has been notified as a national standard by the Government of India.
The points below summarise why IndEA is critical to India’s digital journey:
1. A national standard [Vide GoI Notification: No. 8(22)/2016-EG-I), dated 9th October 2018]. 2. Inspired by global best practices, but India-specific to suit our requirements. 3. Technology, platform and vendor agnostic, following the principle of open standards. 4. Generic to government entities, which can be used for any sector, ecosystem or level of government. 5. References many other relevant national and international standards without reinventing the wheel. 6. Enriched by experiences and learnings from preceding initiatives, and subjected to multiple rounds of closed and open reviews. 7. Freely accessible at MeitY’s (http://egovstandards.gov.in). 8. Aligns with United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). 9. Ongoing focus on adoption and use through multiple channels, including procurement. 10. Accentuates India’s roadmap to enhance United Nations' eGovernment Development Index (eGDI) score towards Vision 30-30.
The National eGovernance Division (NeGD) http://negd.gov.in/ is the identified nodal agency driving the adoption and practice of IndEA
