Brief: Taiwan’s elected government indicated a priority to abandon nuclear power usage and announced a goal to be 100% “nuclear-free” by 2025. With roughly 18% of electricity coming from nuclear plants (2015), the government moved aggressively to create new energy sources as well enacting new public policies to increase the efficiency the the existing grid system. Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) has emerged as one of the key components to the radical solution which allows utility services to fully manage the demand and supply of public electricity. Countries globally have began to pour resources into reevaluating AMI by announcing tenders for digital meter hardware and innovative, bi-directional connectivity solutions.
The technology we have successfully implemented is called “Weightless” – a Low Power, Wide Area Network (LPWAN).
We hope to reproduce the same success story with partners globally.
