Young innovators win accolades at Spirit of Manufacturing Awards 2019

Young innovators in the manufacturing space across categories like social impact, young entrepreneur and IT among others were announced the winners at the ‘Spirit of Manufacturing Awards 2019’ at the TiE Global Summit In collaboration with Power2SME Sector’,’/small-biz/sme-sector’);”>SME in the capital on Thursday.The Spirit of Manufacturing Awards, initiated in 2014, seek to applaud innovations in the manufacturing industry and encourage young innovators in the manufacturing space and hone their skills with the right resources under the right leadership so they can be positioned on a fast growth trajectory.Speaking at the event, Shruti Singh, Director, DPIIT said that the main objective of such an event is to bring about the synergies between the startups and the stakeholders in the ecosystem so that they are able to better appreciate the opportunities that are available – not just in India but globally.
In the changing times, it has become our constant endeavour to boost innovation and manufacturing,” she said.Lauding the achievements of the government’s Start Up India initiative , Singh said that Government of India has been trying to ease regulatory compliances for startups and in the past couple of years, 38 regulatory reforms have been brought about.R Narayan, Founder and CEO, Power2SME said that India’s startups have a plethora of talent to showcase through their innovative offerings.
With each successive season, the Spirit of Manufacturing is expanding its horizon and showcases the best of “Make in India,” he said.With pre-screening of all online applications for each category, followed by assessment of only selected application, the final list of top 14 contestants was generated.
The selection of the final winners were announced on the basis of their presentation in front of a team of jury members on November 14 and scores were amalgamated from the previous rounds.
Towards the end of presentations, the scores were tabulated to announce the winners from each category
